Fergusoncares 4 acre south-side Chicago forest benefits the community in more ways than just supplying basic nutrition.
Our wellness food forest cultivates hundreds of potato towers, producing potato flour and daily fresh bread baked in our outdoor oven. Our forest provides interaction with nature, bird watching, a beautiful trail and an outdoor natural area for rescued animals. Our bamboo and wild mushroom cultivation areas provide skills development training for women, youth and the unemployed.
