Science-based documentary series about the Ancient world. Made by Cambridge University academic Christian Gilliam and Public Historian Joram Appel.

Christian Gilliam is a published philosopher working at the University at Cambridge, and Joram Appel is a public historian who has worked as creative producer, researcher and writer for multiple historical YouTube documentary series. We know how to tell (and how not to tell) historical stories, and how to do it together with the lively community we hope to create and maintain.

The Rise and Fall of Athens
Our first project is the Rise and Fall of Athens. We'll create a chronology, starting in the Bronze Age and ending with the Macedonian Invasion and collapse of Athenian democracy. On top of this chronology, there'll be episodes revolving around myth, theory (like exploring the marxist view of Athenian society) and historiography (explaining how history was written).
