I'm advocating for investing more heavily in the US Navy. The next 30 years are going to be defined by Naval power whether it's in the Western Hemisphere or in the Pacific. Whether the US intervenes in a Taiwan invasion scenario or not the Navy is going to be critical.

After decades of under funding to focus on the army during the war on terror and globalization / off shoring / closing shipyards = destroying America's capacity to build ships .....

it is time for a pendulum swing in the other direction. We might even need to OVER CORRECT and make some hard sacrifices elsewhere throughout the army.

This is of course just my lowly opinion, I'm open to other points of view but I want to start this conversation.

Getting a Christmas tree was one of the most exciting times of the year for me growing up. My dad would let me pick the tree out with my brother. We'd weigh the options, look at the same row of trees 10 times, weigh the prices against the shape. this one is too oblong, this one is too tall and skinny. It takes time to find the right one. Or when I got a little older and if we'd waited too long and it's like 4 days before Christmas then you're standing in a parking lot looking at the 4 trees left that are kinda sad and nobody wanted. "Unique" tree it is that year then.

Personally I love a good Douglas fir , I know some people enjoy a Spruce, that's fair. I think some of the fun part was just knowing it's getting closer to time to open presents but even seeing it down by the fire place was nice.

Colored lights or white lights is a tough choice, personally I like a bunch of colored lights on there, it looks warmer more inviting. Also less professional. White lights belong on a tree in a building lobby, no offensive if you like them!

This is our first Christmas Tree as a whole family. Merry Christmas from the Cappy's! Hope you all have a great a blessed new year guys.

The army is working on an improved version of the M7. It's shorter and lighter. Fired rounds at body armor, concrete and targets at distances out to 800 meters. I really appreciated that SIG and the Army required no review of the questions or the final video.

Grateful to have such an OUTSTANDING community. Huge thank you to Lee from Ohio for making this for us and sending it over. You may have noticed it in the background behind me of the recent episodes, I've got it on the shelf in the studio now.

The whole Cappy family loved it : D

Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. If you're traveling back home today wishing you all safe travels.

Spoke to SIG asked them about all the criticism on the M7 and how they're addressing it. Got hands on with their new and improved performance improvement effort variant. After looking at some of the Trench combat footage people are asking if a reduction of 40 to 60 rounds total and a reduction of 10 rounds in the magazine would make clearing trenches way harder. others say planning to fight in a trench is the wrong answer. What do you think?

happy thanks giving spare parts army <3 M7 episode coming this saturday

The Assault Machine Gunner role in the US military was something I wasn't all that familiar with until recently. Light Machine Gun Assault or (LMG-A) is all about offensive action, taking ground, moving forward, moving up on the objective with a FULL POWERED 7.62 NATO belt fed hungry hungry hippo.

I'm used to the lumbering M240 providing overwatch and support by fire from a distance.

It hasn't really been in the conventional force since the Vietnam war technically sorta never in this configuration where it's only 12.5 lbs. Personally I really like the idea for next generation warfare, for a few reasons. 1) future fights require additional dispersion you will possibly be further from the rest of your squad and from the rest of your unit in general. We need more firepower pushed down lower levels. 2) mobility when navigating urban environments or trench or tunnel networks need you to be able to get up and ****ing go fast.

For Special Forces they've been running this capability for two decades. The conventional force will soon likely have to adjust doctrine / training / tactics around this too. what are your thoughts on the LMG-A program?

I got the opportunity to test out the new and improved versions of SIGs XM7 the XM250 and MG338 machine guns. we shot up a car, shot up body armor, shot up concrete, tested MOA for an average infantryman like myself and I asked SIG about all of the specific different criticisms that have been made against the M7 over the past year so you guys can hear what they have to say for yourselves.

there are still more questions I have about doctrine / strategy and the new optic so I'll try to reach out to the army program officer to see what they have to say but we may not get those answers right now.

At heart I just love test firing new equipment and I like sharing that experience with you all. the old E-4 in me would have never thought I'd get this chance to share this info with you.

until then, new episode live on the real reason Russian troops are deploying to Africa: https://youtu.be/EVLBitv_A_4

Flying out today to North Carolina to shoot SIG's new and improved M7A1. I plan on testing its long range capabilities as an average infantryman, can a so-so marksman like myself hit targets at 800m and beyond with this thing with ease? Does the lighter weight and shorter barrel make much of a difference?

Also firing the MG338 hoping to blast some concrete blocks with it.

If you have any questions for me to ask SIG about the new M7A1 or the M250 let me know here.
