With various ‘firsts’ in my career, I'm a four-time Emmy-nominated actress, Emmy-winning producer, a prominent equal rights advocate, and public speaker. I was the first openly transgender actress to be nominated for a Primetime acting Emmy and became the first Trans woman of color to have a leading role on a mainstream scripted television series among various magazine covers like TIME Magazine, British Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and more.
