Welcome to Just Medicine Breast Conservation! Breast Conservation Treatment(BCT) for breast cancer allows survivors to live more and live longer, compared with total breast removal or mastectomy. Information about the scientific research that demonstrates that BCT results in higher survival is presented, translating to better cure rates when compared with mastectomy. With such robust evidence analysing more than a million women, patients can be confident that the information is reliable. We aim to debunk the myth that mastectomy is better. We will take viewers through the history of breast cancer surgery, how it has evolved and the current data that shows that in the majority of cases, BCT results in higher survival rates. In addition, the complication rates following BCT are lower than for mastectomy. A survivor's quality of life is also better with BCT.
