Amiss Tori is a Drag Queen singer, pianist, guitarist and songwriter from the U.K.
From an early age, Amiss became obsessed with the Queens of country music like Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette and Patsy Cline, captivated by the rhinestones and fringes, the heartfelt stories, the guitar and banjo playing and the big, big hair! She later fell in love with the soul baring music of Tori Amos and the folk musings of Joni Mitchell, inspired by her prowess as a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.
The DIY nature of folk and country music is something that really spoke to Amiss Tori. As she says “Drag Queens do everything ourselves. We’re our own hairstylists, our own costume designers and our own makeup artists. So I thought, why not be my own pianist, banjo player and guitarist and my own recording engineer and producer too? Drag Queens are the ultimate DIY artists.”
