Welcome to the channel of the Institute of Space System (IRS) and the German SOFIA Institute (DSI) of the University of Stuttgart.
The Institute for Space Systems at the University of Stuttgart is dedicated to teaching and research on numerous exciting topics related to space science. From aerothermodynamics and astronautics, small satellites, rovers and plasma wind tunnels to aircraft and dust astronomy, we cover many interesting areas!
The IRS houses the German SOFIA Institute, which is responsible for the maintenance, operation and further development of the telescope in the flying observatory SOFIA, a modified Boeing 747 SP.
