a michelangelo moment

A Michelangelo Moment is the melancholic pop project of California-based singer-songwriter Michelangelo Capraro. From the LA alternative rock scene of the 1990s, Capraro returned to songwriting in 2024, now based in San Francisco.

The project debuted with the critically acclaimed album "It Was Lost Somehow," a meditation on post-pandemic adulthood. Edgar Allen Poets noted it "establishes A Michelangelo Moment as a refined artist with a distinct voice."

Drawing from influences like Rufus Wainwright, Radiohead, Harry Styles and Lizzy McAlpine, Capraro creates introspective songs about life beyond youth's daydreams and heartbreaks. Critics praised how "acoustic instruments subtly intertwine with graceful vocals that fill songs with tenderness and sincerity."

As Capraro explains: "Some people use music to escape pain and sadness. I like music that helps me wallow in it." This approach has established A Michelangelo Moment as a compelling voice in contemporary melancholic folk pop.
