What is calorie?
Calorie is the unit in which energy is measured. So anything we eat is ultimately broken down to release energy which is then measured in calories .
For example:- 1 g protein gives 4 k cal
1 g carbohydrate gives 4 kcal
1 g fat gives 9 k cal
Therefore if you are consuming high protein diet and not working out , it will still increase your weight as protein has equal amount of calories as carbohydrates

If you are 40 + female and want to make sure your transition through menopause is smoother with minimum weight loss then
Workout at least 4 times a week &Include strength training minimum 2 times a week
Sleep for at least 6 to 8 hours
Drink minimum 8-10 glasses of water
Eat chia/flax seeds 5 g daily
7-8 Almonds & 1-2 walnut daily
2 cubes dark chocolate
Increase protein intake
Anti oxidants rich foods like haldi, green tea, seasonal fruits
One probiotic every day like curd or fermented foods
Increase intake of green leafy veggies
