I've been playing guitar for many years. I always found practicing to be more fun if I wrote short solo pieces which contained techniques or licks I wasn't able to play at the tempo of the backing track, and then practice it until I could.
Most of the backing tracks you find on my channel are tracks I wrote for this very purpose. I also write music for game companies and other projects.
