Hi fellow YouTubers and welcome to your "one stop shop" channel for learning (DIY, Trick Videos, How To's etc.). For some people, learning is a chore but I prefer seeing it as a passion, my passion. I've been a commercial plumber for 11 years and ironically, I have learned many "tricks of the trade" that I feel need to be passed on. I am also somewhat handy around the house so I think this channel should entertain you but most importantly, help you. Make sure to SUBSCRIBE and click the "BELL" icon right next to the subscribe button!

PRO TIP: sometime, cleaning an old toilet doughnut can be tedious, an easier way to do it is to use a heat gun (not a plumbing torch) to melt the wax, makes the job a whole lot easier!

PRO TIP: if you wanna know if your toilet flapper is working properly, put some food dye in the water tank, wait about 10-15 minutes and check, if there's dye in the bowl, it means it's leaking. This can be used to save on your water bill if it's high all of a sudden.

PRO TIP: if for whatever reason your toilet isn't flushing, use a bucket of water to flush it instead, works just the same!

1- Make sure your pipes are well insulated (specially prone to freezing areas).
2- Disconnect your hoses.
3- Get your sprinkler systems drained.
4- Bump the up heating.
5- Shut off outdoor faucets inside if that's what you have.
6- If your pipes freeze, make sure to leave them dripping at night when it's very cold.
7- Have a plan ready for thawing out frozen pipes before it happens (hair dryer etc..)
8- Start thinking of having outdoor frostproof faucets installed.
9- Add heated cables to "prone to freezing" areas.
10- Close your main water valve when going on vacation.

Here are 10 reasons why a bucket is the best toolbox;

1- It only costs 5$ (can even get a free one on the jobsite if you're lucky!)
2- You can use it as a makeshift seat to eat lunch!
3- If you need a recipient, you can use your new toolbox!
4- It's good for carrying stuff (other than your tools)!
5- You can use it as a step ladder in a pinch (not OSHA approved!)!
6- You can use it as a small workbench (cut two V grooves to hold pipe while cutting)!
7- Easily replaceable (can be found at almost any store)!
8- You can attach a special made tool pouch on the outside to carry more tools!
9- They are easier to pick up than normal toolboxes because they are high off the ground.
10- They can be stacked with other buckets for whatever reason!

REMINDER: when connecting two dissimilar metals such as copper to iron/steel, remember to use a proper transition fitting. In this scenario, you can use what we call a dielectric union, a brass union or even a Sharkbite fitting if that's your only option. Connecting two dissimilar metals together will result in galvanic corrosion and eat through your pipes!

PRO TIP: if you're a plumber and carry your tools around in an old bucket, make two "V" notches at the top so you can lay your pipe in them when making a cut.
