Dawn Eva focuses on depicting subtleties of metaphysical experiences through conceptual abstract filmmaking.
She explores the interplay between liminal spaces of consciousness, personal experiences of the threshold of outer world to inner world, the dynamics of the relationship between Self and other, as well as the individual’s somatic experience of connection to that which is beyond the self.
Dawn attempts to bridge the viewer's gap between ego and subconscious, spiritual and physical, exploring a wider universal perspective on meaning making and reality in order to expand consciousness.
Her artistic practice is informed by the Western Esoteric tradition, utilising natural imagery as a meditative visual tool; distorting known and preconceptions of space with crafted sound design to elicit subtle shifts in felt perspectives; manipulating the outer physical world to reflect the ephemerality of the inner world.
