The Syncopators are recognised as one of the leading classic and mainstream jazz groups in Australia. This, plus their musicianship and stage presence invariably draw standing ovations at International Jazz Festivals. They have represented Australia on many tours for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, nominated four times for, and winning the Bell Awards for the Best Australian Classic Jazz Album in 2009.

Founded in 1984 by Chris Ludowyk (Trombone), the line-up also includes Peter Gaudion (Trumpet, Lead Vocals), Richard Miller (Reeds), Steve Grant (Piano), Jeff Arthur (Guitar, Banjo), James Clark (Bass, Tuba), Rod Gilbert/Andrew Swann (Drums, Lead Vocals).
