Talking Heads formed in New York City in 1975 and became one of the most influential bands of the post-punk and New Wave eras. Meeting as students at the Rhode Island School of Design, David Byrne (lead vocals, guitar), Chris Frantz (drums), and Tina Weymouth (bass) moved to NYC and recruited Jerry Harrison (keyboards, guitar) to create a sound that sparked the integration of punk, funk, and art rock. From the polyrhythms of Remain in Light and the massive success of "Burning Down the House" to the iconic concert film Stop Making Sense, the band’s constant experimentation and sharp visual style made them truly legendary, and their music continues to inspire generations.
