Someone left this on my “what to wear instead of tight denim shorts” video.

They saw the lace skirt I wore as an alternative to tight denim shorts & said it looked “cheap, tacky, and available.” Like I was advertising myself to men.

And honestly? I’m still sitting with that.

Because I’m tired.
Tired of people policing women’s clothes through the lens of respectability.
Of confidence being mistaken for desperation.
Of sensuality being treated like it’s something we should apologize for.

What if lace isn’t an invitation?

If you’ve ever looked at a thrifted piece and thought, “I could make this cute… but what if I mess it up?”… this one’s for you 🥹

I turned a $6 thrifted men’s shirt into a cinched waist top - with no pattern, two failed attempts & a lot of trial and error 😭 It’s not perfect BUT it made me fall back in love with making things again 🥹❤️

The result of 5 days of sewing 😁❤️


I thrifted this men’s shirt for $6 and as soon as I saw it, I IMMEDIATELY knew I wanted to turn it into a cute crop top. I was scrolling Instagram and got inspired by a top worn by an influencer called Linda (swipe to see the inspo) How did I do??


I opened up a bit about restarting therapy in today’s video and also how we sometimes tend to build things up in our head to be more difficult than they actually are - that was me with this project. I stalled for WEEKS as I was scared I couldn’t do it, I would mess up, it wasn’t the right time - I had so many excuses until I finally decided to go for it and try enjoy the process. I’m so glad I pushed through that because I am SO happy with how this turned out. It might look like a difficult project but I promise you it isn’t - yes, there’s lots of steps but I’ve tried to break it down into simple, manageable ones that are easy to follow and I guarantee that you’ll have a fab top at the end of this if you try this :)

I’ve had so many people stop me and ask me what my routine is to achieve the hair in the first picture and they’ve been pretty disappointed when they find out it’s not my real hair but hey! I take that as a massive compliment that these crochet braids look so natural that it looks like it’s my hair growing out of my scalp!I’m taking care of my natural hair and will hopefully someday have the hair goals of my dreams but for now, I’ll stick to the first 4 tips on this post and occasionally fake it when I want to indulge in the dream of having long hair 🤭🤭
