Modernum has a long history. The company was founded in 1946. Modernum's first product was the Flex-Seal pressure cooker. Until the 60s, Modernum sold and manufactured various household products. Many of the products were created by Sigvard Bernadotte and Acton Björn and are today considered design classics. During the 60s, Modernum had the agency in Sweden for Tefal and Kenwood household appliances. In the late 1960s, Modernum started production of cab heaters. In 1982, battery chargers were added to the program. After 2010, many of Sepab's popular products came to bear the Modernum name. From 2022, Modernum came to have a close collaboration with Professional Parts. Modernum has been owned since 2015 by Indutrade.
Almost all of Modernum's products are produced in Sweden. Modernum has a close collaboration with several talented domestic manufacturers. Examples of best-selling products are the AutoBar foodbox heaters and the Digital Lightning and TrailerSafe electrical kits.
