American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) said he was driving when he was pulled over by at least 10 ICE agents, with no reason given.

Sarsour, a business owner, has lived in the US for over 32 years and has long assisted members of his community by helping them find employment and pushing for education.

AMP believes he was targeted due to his Palestinian background.

"He was taken out of state to a detention facility in Chicago before being transferred to a detention centre in Indiana. His family was left scrambling to determine his whereabouts and his condition," the group said in a statement yesterday.

ICC chief prosecutor Karim Khan can potentially resume his duties, a three-judge panel has said, after rejecting a UN investigation of alleged sexual misconduct with a female aide, according to conclusions viewed by AP.

A final decision on the fate of the embattled barrister is now up to the Assembly of States Parties, the body that oversees the ICC.
