Efforts are underway to push a return to the Islamabad MoU agreed between Iran and the US in June.

Iran's Interior Ministry said “active diplomacy continues with the president’s participation in the Shanghai and BRICS meetings in India and Kyrgyzstan, and through intensive consultations", in a statement carried by Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency.

For his part, US President Donald Trump has said that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons will come with some cost, however predicted that the war would soon end, followed by a drop in fuel prices.

Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, Director-General of the Gaza Ministry of Health, has lost his eldest son, Baseer Muneer Al-Bursh, who was killed in an Israeli attack near his home in Jabalia, northern Gaza.

Al-Bursh has been a key voice in continuing to expose Israeli attacks and violations against the health sector in Gaza.

This comes as part of a wider pattern in which Israel targets the families, loved ones and homes of those who speak out, or play an active role in revealing Israeli war crimes to the world, in a bid to silence them.

Italy's defence minister called for a stronger naval presence in the Red Sea to protect merchant shipping amid concerns over the Bab al-Mandeb Strait on 18 Sep.

"The only nations really supporting (security efforts) are Italy and Greece," Defence Minister Guido Crosetto, a senior ally of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said, declining to estimate how many vessels would be needed to secure the area.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto chanted “Free Palestine” during a speech marking the 100th anniversary of an Islamic school on 19 Sep, and he was presented a keffiyeh by Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulfattah A.K. Al-Sattariand wore it.

Prabowo chanted "Free Palestine" several times and said that if Indonesia is "strong", then "we can help our brothers and sisters who are oppressed by another regime".

Children under the age of three were referred hundreds of times to the UK government's controversial counter-terrorism scheme, Prevent, known for its bias against Muslim communities.

Data revealed that babies under the age of two were referred to Prevent 86 times between 2016-17 and 2023-24, with over two-thirds (59) of these referrals over so-called “Islamist” concerns.

The EU urged the US to reconsider its decision to bar the Palestinian delegation from the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

A jury at the Old Bailey unanimously acquitted Sarah Cotte, a 22-year-old former SOAS student, on 18 Sep, following a retrial on a charge under Section 12(1A) of the Terrorism Act 2000 for allegedly expressing support for Hamas, which is proscribed in the UK.

Cotte faced an eight-day trial ending on 1 July, in which jurors acquitted her on one charge but failed to reach a verdict on a second. The Crown Prosecution Service opted for a retrial rather than accept the deadlock. The new jury returned its unanimous not-guilty verdict after just two hours of deliberation.

The charge stemmed from a speech Cotte gave outside SOAS on 9 October 2023, two days after the start of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza began on 7 Oct 2023. She would have faced a maximum sentence of 14 years if convicted.

Resale prices for Macklemore’s October concert at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre have risen sharply after he was dropped from the remainder of Ed Sheeran’s “Mathematics” (or “LOOP”) tour following pro-Palestinian remarks he made on stage earlier this month.

Keith Pagelow, founder of Ticket Data, told CNBC that the cheapest available resale ticket for Macklemore’s concert rose 45% in three days, from $108 to $157, adding that the increase would not have happened without this week’s events. Israeli airstrikes killed three Palestinians in different areas of the Gaza Strip on 19 Sep. One of the killed was Basser Mounir Al-Barsh, the son of Gaza’s Director-General of the Ministry of Health.

Since the “ceasefire” from Oct 2025, Israeli forces killed more than 1,386 Palestinians in Gaza Strip, with hundreds wounded. This brings the number of Palestinians killed in the strip since Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza began in Oct 2023 to 73,821, with more than 174,000 wounded. Gaza has the highest number of amputees in the world.
