The People’s Lawctivist

Welcome to The People’s Lawctivist Channel; where the power of the law meets the passion of activism.

This channel is dedicated to exploring relevant activist causes, breaking down complex legal concepts into clear, accessible language, and highlighting the struggles and triumphs of communities fighting for their rights. Here, we show how the law can be reclaimed as a tool for the people, and prevent the law from being used to perpetuate unlawfulness.

Advocate Sabelo Sibanda, a Pan-Afrikanist legal strategist, human rights advocate, and Founder of the International Alliance of Lawctivists and International Institute of Lawctivists, leads this movement. Known as The People’s Lawctivist, he coined the term Lawctivism to describe the use of the law as a tool to advance activist causes for the benefit of the people.

His work bridges legal theory and grassroots activism, with a strong emphasis on Afrikan sovereignty, Afrikanisation, and the protection of traditional knowledge systems.
