Hey šŸ’•ā€™s
I’m Vannah a wife, mom, and nurse practitioner on a journey of healing, weight loss, and holistic wellness. For years, I lived life on autopilot busy with work, family, and responsibilities while neglecting my own health, emotionally, mentally, and physically. After facing trauma, loss, anxiety, and health challenges, I realized it was time to take control of my body, mind, and spirit.

I started documenting my weight loss journey, but this truly is evolving into something bigger than me as I’ve seen how many health struggles stem from poor nutrition, stress, and lack of awareness so I decided to kick it up a notch and share what I know as a NP and what I’m learning about holistic health, disease prevention, and sustainable lifestyle changes. My goal is to help women like you make intentional choices for your health, reclaim your energy, and live a more fulfilled life. Let’s stop living on autopilot and make one daily healthier choice at a time šŸ’•

I told myself, ā€œJust do 30 minutes. That’s it. Don’t overthink it. Just move your body.ā€

No pressure. No extremes. Just keep the promise.

So I put on my gospel playlist, stepped outside, and started walking.

And somewhere between talking to God, breathing deeper than I have in days, and letting the sun hit my face… I felt Him with me.

Not in a loud, dramatic way.

But in a gentle, steady whisper:
ā€œKeep going.ā€

Step by step.
Prayer by prayer.
Tear by tear.

And before I knew it… 3+ miles.

Y’all… this is what I’m learning on my healing and weight loss journey:

Transformation doesn’t start with discipline.
It starts with surrender.

Surrendering the timeline.
Surrendering the shame.
Surrendering the comparison.
Surrendering the fear that this time won’t be different.

As a nurse practitioner, I understand the science of weight loss, hormones, inflammation, and metabolism.

But as a woman of faith walking through her own holistic health journey, I’m learning that healing is deeper than macros and meal plans.

It’s obedience in the small things.
It’s keeping the promise you made to yourself.
It’s choosing movement when you’d rather numb out.
It’s trusting God with your body instead of fighting it.

If you’re thinking about starting your healing journey…
If you’re tired of starting and stopping…
If you’re tired of feeling stuck in your body…

Start with surrender.

You don’t need a perfect plan.
You need a willing heart.

Your 30-minute walk might turn into 3 miles.
Or it might just be 15 minutes today.

Either way heaven sees your effort.

And that first step?
It matters more than you think.

ā€œWhat does 2,000 calories actually look like?ā€

This video breaks it down.

For the longest time, I thought eating less was the answer.

1,200 calories.
1,600 calories.
Just starve a little more.

But at 256 lbs… trying to heal my hormones, lose weight, and keep my sanity… I realized I needed to re-evaluate my calorie deficit the RIGHT way.

So I decided since I’m re evaluating my own calorie deficit goal I’d create a video on:

ā€œHow I Calculated My Calorie Deficit at 256 lbs (Without Starving)ā€

I break down:
āœ”ļø What a calorie deficit actually is
āœ”ļø How I calculated my maintenance calories
āœ”ļø Why I’m choosing 1–1.5 lbs per week
āœ”ļø My actual plan moving forward

If you’ve ever wondered, ā€œHow many calories should I actually be eating?ā€ this one is for you.

Comment ā€œHEALINGā€ if you’ll be there šŸ‘‡šŸ½

There was a time a camera couldn’t catch me posing like this.

I would hide.
Hide behind angles.
Hide behind baggy clothes.
Hide behind ā€œI’ll start whenā€¦ā€

But something shifted.

As I’ve been building my relationship with God, healing my mind, being intentional about what I eat, and actually moving my body consistently… I don’t just feel smaller.

I feel FREE.

Free from shame.
Free from hiding.
Free from food controlling me.
Free from the version of me that didn’t believe she deserved to feel confident.

The choices I’m making now align with the woman I’m becoming.
And that alignment? It’s powerful.

This bodysuit isn’t just cute.
It represents growth.
It represents discipline.
It represents self-love.

One-piece workout sets might just be my new thing šŸ‘€
No more hiding behind oversized clothes.
No more shrinking myself.

I’m walking in confidence.
And it feels amazing.

Check the comments for details on this bodysuit šŸ’•

You Do NOT Need to Eat Less to Lose Weight šŸ¤

For years, I thought weight loss meant restriction… eating less, cutting everything I loved, and constantly feeling deprived.

But here’s the truth šŸ‘‰šŸ½ I lost over 60 pounds without giving up the foods I love.

What changed?
• I stopped eating ultra-processed junk
• I removed excess sugar
• I followed the 80/20 rule (80% nourishing whole foods, 20% flexibility)
• I moved my body daily
• And most importantly… I changed my mindset and relationship with myself and my body

If you’re just starting your weight loss journey, hear me clearly:
✨ Simply removing heavily processed foods alone can help you lose weight.

Now let’s talk about calories and food scales because this is where people get confused.

You do not have to use a food scale forever.
However, it is helpful especially in the beginning to understand what and how much you’re actually consuming. Most of us truly don’t know.

Weight loss still comes down to building a calorie deficit but that doesn’t mean restriction.
It means awareness + better food quality.

You don’t have to give up the foods you love.
You just need to:
āœ”ļø Know your portions
āœ”ļø Clean up your diet a bit
āœ”ļø Choose foods that fuel and nourish your body
āœ”ļø Create a sustainable deficit

This week, I’m challenging myself to start using a food scale not because I want to obsess over calories (that’s NOT my focus), but because knowledge is power. And honestly? I’m excited for the challenge.

I’m proud to say I can still eat what I love, enjoy my food, and lose weight without saying ā€œI can’t have thisā€ or ā€œI need to restrict that.ā€

✨ Eat what you love just lead with foods that love your body back.

I’ll be sharing more about food scales, calories, and mindset in an upcoming video so stay tuned šŸ¤

This journey has been nothing short of amazing.
God has tested me more times than I can count and yes, there were moments I wanted to quit. But every single day I’m reminded that the vision God showed me will not come to pass if I give up on myself.

I have to stay the course.
I have to keep taking action.
I have to keep moving even when it feels uncomfortable.

God’s promises will prevail if I stay aligned and stay obedient.

Up until now, my movement has been walking and YouTube workouts cardio and light strength. But I’m entering a new lane. I’ve decided to step into my home gym and truly challenge myself with strength training using machines and dumbbells.

And let me be honest… I’m a true beginner.
There are moments I stand there like, ā€œOkay Lord… how do I even use this machine?ā€ šŸ˜…
Thank God for the little diagrams, YouTube, and yes ChatGPT because I’m learning as I go.

But I’m not backing down.
I’m choosing to conquer this phase too.

I’m actually loving this process the growth, the discipline, the faith stretch.
And the best part?
This is only the beginning. ✨
