Hey guys! My name is Deanna! I am an artist, a mom of 2 kids, and 2 fur babies, and have been married to my husband for over 20 years. We have lived and traveled abroad, and all over the country, with our two kids. My husband retired from the military and is now helping to care for me as I have multiple chronic conditions. I loved traveling & working at my fast-paced job in finance before I became disabled. I suffer from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Eagles Syndrome, IIH, CSF leaks, P.O.T.S., and well .. the list goes on.I consider myself very lucky though as I have such a supportive family. I have found a love for art and painting as a form of therapy. I also occasionally write for a small newspaper, love posting content, and sharing my life and journey with all of you! Xoxo-Deanna

“Invisible No More, The Mighty Zebra” Fine Art by Deanna Caroon
This Mighty Zebra symbolizes the struggles I myself and fellow zebras have had on our journeys with invisible disabilities and Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes. The diagnosis, the treatments, the surgeries, the lifestyle changes, all of it. I gave it a mighty main so it could be seen because so many times we are not, and are misunderstood while sitting in front of our doctors. I gave it shining gold stripes so it may shine brighter than the other zebras, so there is no mistaking it for a horse, and it will not be mistaken as an ordinary zebra! I made it look different than the other zebras even, as no two zebras are the same. I hope this may be a reminder as they say in our community, “Sometimes when you hear hoofbeats, it really is a zebra.”
15% of all sales of this piece will be donated to the Ehlers- Danlos Society.

Hi y’all 🙏🏼 I wanted to give you an excerpt from my latest blog. Love , Life, and Designs with Deanna- My Medical Journey, The Fibrin Glue Patch - Part 3. I hope you all enjoy taking this journey with me ! Xoxo Deanna
@deanna_caroon
We Left off with my visit to Duke to receive a Fibrin Glue patch. Just to refresh your memory, I am super excited about the procedure as I have been bed bound or lying flat for quite some time. I see Dr. M and they bring me into this amazing room that may be scary to most, but to me, it was exciting. All I could think was could this be the day my life goes back to normal? As I explained they were overly cautious and did fibrin glue in several areas this time as the blood patch the last time did not work for me as anticipated. I felt so much pressure, and pain during the procedure, but I will tell you right now it was worth it. For the first time in a long time, I could touch my head. Almost instantly, my mind cleared, and I felt relief. My brain did not feel like it was sitting on my skull. I could breathe.
