Bristol Energy Cooperative

Bristol Energy Cooperative is building a community-owned clean energy power station in the South West. The co-op is a community owned initiative to build a resilient, local and low carbon energy infrastructure for Bristol. It owns energy infrastructure and supports investment in energy efficiency and low carbon technologies, in homes, businesses and community resources in Bristol and the surrounding region. Bristol Energy Coop also produces financial returns for reinvestment on a ‘revolving fund’ model. In 2016, Bristol Energy Cooperative completed its third fund-raise for community solar energy raising around £10.5 million, to help finance two community solar farms and solar installations on around 10 community buildings in the Bristol region.
