Hey y'all, thanks for all the love so far on the goofy fairy tales video! It really means the world to me, but something else came up that brought me even more joy.
When I originally started posting on this channel it was mainly just a place to put my animations for school or projects, with no expectations of ever getting views.
But with the channel blowing up, many people have gone back and watched those videos and commented, and that always makes me really happy, but this was the wildest one yet.
Shoutout to @zom8863 who left a comment with a full analysis of my college thesis film "They Have No Faces". I made that at a time when I was obsessed with internet ARGs and the budding analog horror genre, and I wanted to take the opportunity to make my own.
Granted the story is pretty rough around the edges, but his analysis in the comments brought up so many hidden details and plot points that I had completely forgotten about, and it's reminding me so much about the passion I put in while making it.
So now with a proper explainer in the comments, I think it's totally worth giving this old film some love and sharing some of your thoughts and theories. 2020 me could have only ever dreamed of being in a position where people were actually analyzing and theorizing about his work, and I'm so glad that I'm here now.
Dammit, after taking extra care to censor myself and censoring some of the darker self-harm topics in this video, it got hit with limited ads, and I can’t appeal. So now the vid will make basically nothing. Oh well, guess I gotta try and make an extra vid this month to make up the difference, thanks yall for watching and supporting regardless :)
UPDATE: I'm deciding to unlist this video and reupload a more censored version of the video, should be up tomorrow. I know a decent chunk of y'all have already tuned in, but since my impressions have also tanked I think that it'll be worth doing. Thanks so much for the kind words!!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, to those who celebrate!!
New video will be out in the next day or two! I also just wrapped up a freelance gig so now I should have time to upload a little more frequently, will def be taking a look at your guys's suggestions.
Just posted a new live reaction for channel members: Dexter the Dog and La Chica Flor!
The latter is what I'll be covering in my next video. It's genuinely one of my favorite shorts I've seen in recent times, and it's so underrated so I highly recommend you check it out! It is entirely in spanish, but google translate and auto captions will get you most of the way there.
And I'm bilingual so I'll provide translations in the full commentary vid if you wanna wait for that!
But drop suggestions below for other horror videos I should watch, I'm trying to stick with series and videos that have recent releases.
Ty so much for the support! It means the world <333
For my next video, should I cover Local58, or Basswood County. Both came out with new episodes pretty recently, and I have a lot to say about both! I'll also probably be covering both series in their entirety since they're pretty short.
I also might want to get a little deeper with analyzing and theorizing about the stories of these series, as opposed to just reviewing the filmmaking/ storytelling, which I'll still do because that's what I'm passionate about
Just posted my video essay on the Walten Files, but I wanna quickly pop in here to say thank you all so much for the love on the urbanspook video!!
Don’t wanna get too personal but it’s been a rough month and making YouTube videos has been a good creative outlet, and I’m so glad that other people were able to enjoy it too!
I’m gonna keep covering internet horrors and arg’s for the time being, so if you have any suggestions on what I should watch, lmk below!
