Masumi Yamamoto (A/K/A Pop Star Masumi) is a Jazz pianist, Composer and Singer songwriter and plays piano in her Group TLQ plus.
Masumi attended a Music School starting at age 4. Her first piano composition was at about age 6.She participated in and, came out on top at many piano competitions. She grew up with a strong American Popular Music, Jazz and R&B Influence, in her home. She learned how to play cello, percussions and drums in her early teens.
She moved to Yokohama continue with her University education. While there She attend as many live performances by American Artists as possible and decided to have a career in American Music Industry.
When she was 19, she flew by herself, alone to New York City and went to the Apollo Theater in Harlem to to see the Amateur night show.
After graduating from the University, she enrolled a Music school in Los Angeles, CA and eleven months later she signed with FortressUSA Records.
