We often believe that having a coffee or a pre-workout drink to boost our energy for gym workouts is the best approach. But is it really? For just that moment, perhaps an hour, you may have plenty of energy. Even I sometimes find myself reaching for a Monster energy drink during late-night drives when I feel a bit tired. Yet, I’m aware of what I'm doing. I only take a sip because I understand my energy needs.
When you're expending energy somewhere, you're losing it elsewhere. The key is to manage and be aware of your energy levels. Personally, I prefer not to rely on coffee or pre-workout supplements. If I'm feeling energized, I utilize that surge. Conversely, if my energy is low, I still make the most of it to the best of my abilities. I believe that if I rely on something to enhance my energy, I’ll eventually deplete it from other important areas, such as relationships, clients, business, or the energy I invest in work. It all interconnects.
Be mindful of your energy use. Remember, you're not just eating to work out; you're eating to live. Food is vital energy. Don't think that just because you consumed a lot of food without exercising, you must hit the gym. No. You ate to refuel, allowing your body to recover. Now, you can channel that energy into spending time with friends, loved ones, and family. Not all of your energy should be dedicated solely to the gym.

Ask yourself today:
đź’ Am I putting the best thing I can into my body?
đź’ Am I using my time in the best way possible?
Simple mantras — but they’ll shift your mindset and your results.
Yesterday wasn’t perfect. I went over calories and had a late night, but instead of beating myself up, I’m making up for it by burning an extra 500 cals over the next few days.
Remember this:
👉🏾 Everything you feel is a result of what you think.
If you don’t like how you feel, change what you’re thinking.
You’re always in control of your perspective.

I know some of you might want to lose weight and that’s okay.
But let’s get real for a minute - why do you really want to lose weight?
No one puts “lose weight” on their resolution list every January just for the heck of it.
Let’s find the real reason this goal is important to you with the “5 Why Game.” For example...
Q: What is your goal?
A: To lose weight.
Q: But why?
A: Maybe it’s because you don’t have a roadmap that helps you create a plan of action
Q: Ok, but why is that important?
Then ask why again. And again. And AGAIN. Usually when you have answered “why” for the fifth time, you’ll get to the real reason why you’re here. And that’s the answer we really need to know because it’s the root of the mission. You can use the “5 Why Game to help you dig deeper.
No one's going to put in the work that’s required to lose weight and keep it off just for the sake of losing weight. They're going to do it because they miss going out with friends and family; they hate that they feel uncomfortable when they see their friends or family they haven’t seen in awhile; they hate feeling embarrassed when they can’t do things with family of friends at the beach or pool, cause they don’t look the same in the bathing suit.
Keep your why at the forefront of your mind when you’re pursuing weight loss. It’ll be the driving force that keeps you going when you get frustrated, tired, and ticked off at the process. And then every time the apathy monster rears its ugly head, remind yourself WHY you’re doing it in the first place.
Why is weight loss and fat loss worth it to you?
