Mason Dumont’s 2nd fully digitally recorded album, and 11th studio album overall, The Strawberry Album, combines prog rock with 80s pop and even calypso-jazz influence. The 5 singles on this album are the first 5 tracks, and the shorter tracks. Smooth Bee and Radio Tonight are the tracks with the 80s pop vibe. They have great clean guitar playing and the brass and pads are heard here. The Blizzard of '26 and A Lowball Offer are still pop songs but they have a bit more grit and lay off most of the 80s textures. They are the overall rockers of the album. Propane is an interesting beast here because unlike the original metal version, it is instead a calypso-jazz inspired piece with classical guitar playing. I use a talk singing voice here instead of a metal scream. A Prog Rock Freestyle and 7:47 are just me having fun. The Ballad Of A Country Girl is my 20 minute epic ballad. It starts off Latin, then jazz, then a rock jam, then a piano piece, then back to Latin, only in a higher key.
