American Jeeper is about me, Derick, my life, my interests and my travels.

World traveler for 34 of my 51 years, 21 of those spent in uniform.

I'm a Polyglot, RV enthusiast and restorer. Camping, boating, fishing, music relaxes me. Guitar player (kinda), since the age of seven years old. I love Jeeps and own a 1976 CJ-5, the only known surviving 1 of 15 painted in 7P Lime Green. I also have a 2008 Rescue Green Metallic Wrangler Unlimited Sahara.

I enjoy the simplicity of the 18th & 19th centuries, with the exception of witch trials and scarlet fever. Any engine powered by steam fascinates me, the beauty and complexity of those magnificent machines captivate my imagination. My favorite steam engine train? A toss-up between the 4-8-4 Niagara and the 4-8-8-4 Big Boy.

In my spare time, I love watching productive YouTube channels, particularly those that make neglected things beautiful and useful again.

Welcome to my channel.
