Sundarvan is a nature discovery centre located at the heart of Ahmedabad city, Gujarat, India. It is an activity of Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Ahmedabad, which is a Centre of Excellence of the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India.
Sundarvan’s activities with children and youth act as a catalyst and stimulate the process of inquiry into nature. Recognized as a mini-zoo, it has a collection of reptiles, birds and small mammals. A very popular place with children and youth, Sundarvan receives nearly 100,000 visitors annually. This nature discovery centre was inaugurated by Dr. Salim Ali, the well-known ornithologist, on 28th October, 1978.
Nature trail and snake awareness programmes are regularly held for visitors at Sundarvan. Bird watching and other Environment education programmes are also conducted for various groups on request.
