Day 13 of our trip Across China ended with a visit to the iconic city wall of Xi'an. This 14km, 600 year-old, wall is the most well preserved ancient wall in all of China. You can walk it, you can take a guided golf cart tour or you can take a rental bicycle (single or tandem).
Next we had to visit the ancient Bell- and Drum Towers right in the centre if the city with a detour through Xi'an food and cultural epicenter- Muslim Quarter market.
The most delicious food in all of Shaanxi province. Lamb kebads grilled to perfection, "Pao Mo" - a dish of pull-apart tender lamb or beef slices in a delicious broth with torn bread and glass noodles. There are too many delicious dishes for one visit. This place is a foodie's heaven!

On Day 12 of our trip across China we visited the beautiful Shi Jing Li Historical Scenic Park 诗经里.
This gorgeous artistically-themed little town places focus on the poetry and arts of ancient China.
If you want to envelope yourself in a culture you should take on and experience all aspects of it- including the attire. Yours truly, donned a rather smart set of royal robes and we took part in a multitude of activities such as ancient plant/flower painting, calligraphy and a live performance and poetry reading. It truly is a must see place when anyone is visiting Shaanxi province

Day 11 of our journey across China featured some truly amazing sights!
First we visited the famous Terracotta Soldiers and the tomb of China's first Emperor, Qin Shi Huangdi. It's been my second visit to the burial sights and it's absolutely worthy of being one of the ancient wonders of the world and UNESCO heritage site. I had the privilege of interviewing the Director of Restoration and Conversation department!
Then we went into the heart of Xi'an to the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and Walking street- the starting point for the New Belt-and-Road initiative. So many cultures and amazing food diversity in one single location makes this another must see location when ever you visit Xi'an city. Absolutely beautiful night scenes!

Day 10 on our roadtrip across the China, we stopped over one night in Shi Yan city. Shi Yan is famous for its over 200 Toaist temples and it being a large manufacturing hub for China's automobile industry. Large tractor, bus and construction vehicles were built here going back as far as the early 1960s.
We finally arrived at our final city- Xi'an where we met with famous artist and producer Fan Weiyu 范炜与. Fan Wei has produced many musical hits including Xi An Ren De Ge 西安人的歌 and original soundtracks for popular TV series. We even got to perform a song with him!

Day 9 on our journey across China:
First visited an old British cotton processing plant in downtown Wuhan. An absolute must visit for any art lover; It's PURE eye candy! 🥰
This giant old red brick building has been turned into hundreds of art galleries, museums, coffeeshops, cafés and studios. Took hundredsof amazing photos.
Next on our stop was the Wuhan East Lake Scenic park. Wuhan's East lake is a giant! It was windy and the water was choppy but absolutely a magical place to go visit on a relaxing weekend with friends or family, or if you fancy a little quiet time

Day 8 on our roadtrip "Along the Expressways of China" started off with interviews with local volunteers and drivers who supported their communities during the Wuhan lockdown and tirelessly fought on the frontlines of the war against Covid-19. After which we took a trip to the First Bridge over the Yangtze river, but got caught in a rainstorm while on location and had to take refuge under one of the bridge's posts. Visited the infamous Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan, where for the longest time , due to either ignorance or sub-par reporting, the international community was convinced- was the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thanks to the investigative skills of foreign and domestic scientists we now know it's not the point of origin, but was only the source of the first cluster infections in Wuhan. Day 7 of our roadtrip across China;
We'll be heading to one of the frontline hospitals that fought the pandemic in Wuhan, where we'll be interviewing some of the doctors and volunteers that worked tirelessly to help their communities
After that- we're headed to THE Wetmarket. Yes, the exact same market where the Chinese strain of Covid-19 virus was said to have been first discovered.
