Basically what I'm trying to say is respect should be earned and not an automatic requirement and respecting the dead shouldn't be something you should expect people to do by default especially when the person in question is a r@ci$t colonizer who's actions have negatively affected so many people and especially marginalized people and I get where some people are coming from, when someone dies it's a serious matter and we should respect the person who passed BUT I really don't think that should apply to objectively bad people, so I am gonna respect the dead but I'm directing that respect to the people who lost their lives because of Queen Elizabeth's actions

The whole "respect the dead" thing in the context of Queen Elizabeth's death makes me super uncomfy considering she's a r@cist imperialist colonizer whose responsible for the deaths of many people so I personally don't think that we should be telling people (especially those who're affected the most by her actions like Black people for example) to respect her death because why would you respect someone whose actions directly harmed the people of race you're a part of so I think this is one those instances where people have a right to make jokes about her death because to these people have the right to not respect her like I get what you're trying to say but maybe re-direct that respect towards the people who d!ed because of her
