What’s one popular product or service that you think is a waste of money?

You know what’s cool?

A beat up old pickup truck that’s actually been used to do truck things, like haul lumber and tow trailers.

You know what’s not cool?

A lifted pavement princess that cost more than your home’s down payment, its bed unmarred by a single spec of mud.

After all, there are cheaper ways to get a DUI on the way home from Top Golf. Save that money for your child support payments, friend.

Physical buttons are cool. An actual little knob to adjust your treble and fade.

20” tablets glued onto your dashboard? Not cool.

Speaking of not cool:

TikTok. TikTok suuuucks.

But you know what’s super cool?

Reading books. Actual physical books, I mean. I'm on sci-fi kick, making my way through the Hyperion series.

Books > ebooks > audiobooks/podcasts > movies/gaming > scrolling

Keeping your phone until it’s no longer usable is a very cool thing to do.

Upgrading your phone every chance you get is dumb. Don’t fall for it!

Having a go-to water bottle that you use everyday, that’s all banged up and maybe covered in stickers?

Cool.

A collection of special edition Stanleys? Incredibly lame.

Another thing that’s really cool? Old wood or tile floors, full of patina and stories.

You know what sucks? Grey faux wood “luxury” vinyl plank.

Water is cool, soda is not.

Ordering food with an app is not cool, but calling in takeout and going to pick it up? Very cool.

Hybrid dress shoes aren’t cool. But actual dress shoes are (when you dress up, that is).

Comfort is cool. Clothes that are too tight? Not especially cool.

A 20-piece watch collection that sits in a drawer? Nah.

1-2 special pieces that you were every day and get repaired when they break?

Yes, please.

And yeah, this is just like, my opinion, man.

Agree or disagree?

🙋🏻‍♂️ Two quick updates:

1 - In solidarity with our immigrant neighbors, I donated 50% of this month's YouTube ad revenue to The Florence Project, a non-profit that "provides free legal services, social services, and advocacy to immigrants facing detention and potential deportation".

The other 50% went to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, a local organization that feeds the hungry.

2 - My 500k Q&A video just went live. I answered all your questions, from style to personal finance and mental health. Hope you enjoy it!

Heads up! Huckberry is running their annual sale, 15% off almost everything (very rare for this shop...it's not like H&M where everything is always on sale).

Here are a few picks, most of which I actually own:

- Flannel-Lined Waxed Trucker Jacket - prf.hn/l/q3lpWvn/

- New Balance 990v6 - prf.hn/l/3PqgM89/

- 365 5 Pocket Pant - prf.hn/l/BJDEo32/ (I prefer the straight fit, which is kinda slim)

- Greys Wool Outdoor Mule - prf.hn/l/KNOq3nM/

- Ten Thousand Interval Short - prf.hn/l/rwP3AoY/

- Proof 72 Hour Wool Tee - prf.hn/l/QLGW83g/

FYI these are affiliate links. Enjoy!

Just another example of how small watches look classy on big wrists (from Channing Tatum's recent Hot Ones appearance).

I've gotten a few questions about the bracelet I'm always wearing. It's a 4mm sterling silver box chain from John Hardy (via Farfetch, where it sells for like $200 less than MSRP).

I like it because it works with any level of formality and any other accessories, from casual to dressy. I wear it with swim trunks and suits.

You can find all different varieties of the metal chain bracelet: different metals, colors, chain style and widths.

If you're curious, I wrote a bit more about this bracelet in this week's newsletter, which you can read for free right here - brock-mcgoff.kit.com/posts/my-favorite-bracelet-go…

And here's a link to the exact bracelet I wear - rstyle.me/+fn54_EfkyS7KGonR_rUBzA (size S works for my 6.25" wrist)
