This week we celebrated the crucial coalition work being done by Civic Tennessee & 39 grassroots organizations who are leading the charge for change in our state. City Winery Nashville was filled with civic leaders, organizers & allies. HOPE in action — there is joyful resistance to tyranny and goods things afoot for democracy here in Tennessee. 
Thank you to everyone who performed &  everyone who bought a ticket. We have so much work to do but it feels galvanizing  to know there are so many of us in this together.

As our sister city Memphis braces for the intimidation of the National Guard patrolling her streets, as hundreds of Hispanic children are disappeared in the night by ICE, as our LGBTQIA+ family is scapegoated & targeted, all whilst our current regime continues to fund & arm genocidal violence abroad — in flagrant breach of International Humanitarian Law —it is urgent & imperative for us to come together to grow our circles of non-violent, joyful, creative resistance and solidarity in person. We Sing Truth to Power and renew our commitment to the basic Human Rights Principles of Life, Liberty Equality & The Pursuit of Happiness for *EVERYBODY*!

We in Nashville believe that Memphis belongs to the people who call it home, not to federal officials looking for excuses to take power from residents.
