Sunday night & last night were my first trips back to the Underworld since Merle Dandridge & Daniel Breaker‘s extraordinary last show back in June. These 5 brilliant principles: Morgan Dudley, Kurt Elling, Rebecca Jones, Paulo Szot, & Jack Wolfe are the first since the OGs to learn the show together & come in together. It’s a privilege & a deep pleasure to witness their superlative world building & storytelling. Also grateful I got to catch Eddie N. Rodríguez Hades on Sunday & Sydney Parra's‘s Eurydice last night. Fabulous All!
I am elated & honoured to be back but also feeling mournful for them & for the whole company that my arrival heralds their first family separation since they began rehearsals together. I remember how devastated I was when my beloved first cast mates Phillip Boykin, Maia Reficco, & Jordan Fisher left 10 weeks into my 15 week #broadwaydebut - whilst simultaneously being so fortunate & happy to get to learn a new version of the show w/ Tom Hewitt, Hailey Kilgore & #carlosvaldes
