The ongoing war in Sudan, the rapdily deterioriating conditions in Lebanon and Egypt, the earthquakes in Syria and Morocco, the devastating floods in Libya, the fires in Iraq, and now the war on Palestine. How much heartbreak can a person take?

I pray for the safety and well-being of all my brothers and sisters wherever they are. I pray for a day when Palestine is free and the occupation is toppled. My thoughts and heart are with you.

HELP REQUEST FROM ALGERIANS AND MOROCCANS
طلب مساعدة من الأخوة والأخوات الجزائريين والمغربيين

[ENG]

I hope everyone is doing well.
I am currently working on a research project that requires the translation and recording of a set of words and sentences into Algerian and Moroccan darija. As such, I am reaching out to anyone who may be interested in lending me a hand with this task.
The translation process will involve working with a list of words and sentences and recording the equivalent terms in Algerian and Moroccan Arabic via WhatsApp or any other recording medium of your choice. The translated items will be used to test the intelligibility of both Arabic varieties in Lebanon.
If you are interested in volunteering your time to help me with this project, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me on my email wehbe.mohammad96@gmail.com, or via FaceBook or the comments section. Your names and information will remain anonymous and I will not share them with anyone.
Thank you all for your time and your consideration.

Best regards,
M. Wehbe

Last Monday, a devastating earthquake struck Syria and Turkey and so far around 23,000 have been reported dead, with an estimated 24M people affected. Where I live in Lebanon, the tremor we felt lasted for some 40 seconds, and every time I remember the paralyzing fear I felt then, I am reminded by how much more fear the people of Syria and Turkey must have felt, and it fills my heart with sorrow and pain, and rage at this ill-fated event. My prayers and thoughts are with all those affected in beloved Syria and Turkey. May our region one day know peace and our children grow happy and carefree.

I will be observing a mourning period and halting activity on this channel for a few days, out of respect for all the souls lost and their grieving families.

I am also sharing with this post links to relief funds that are collecting donations for the victims of the earthquake:

CONGRATULATIONS, MOROCCO!! You've made us all very happy and proud tonight. I'm not one to sit through an entire football match, but this one had me nailed to my seat. We'll all be rooting for you in the semifinals, and no matter how you do, I hope you know how much joy you have already brought us.

Hi, friends. مرحبا جميعا

I'm working on a couple of translations and I would like to have three of them reviewed. They are in Moroccan, Sudanese and Emirati Arabic; if anyone is a native speaker or has a near native understanding of any of the dialects, please let me know. I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks a lot. شكرا للكل.

Hi, everybody. I want to talk to you all about something that is really important to me. It’s a long post, so please bear with me.

I prepared around 5 videos which I had planned to release in the few days leading up to al-Eid, but then something happened and I decided that the timing would not be right; there are more pressing matters that people need to focus their attention at. As many if not all of you already know, Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and the pre-48 lands are now, as I am writing this, coming under bombs, being lynched, targeted and beat, and evicted from their homes which are then given to settlers
.
The past week caused nothing but heartbreak for me. But since a very long time, I had felt something other than complete apathy, I was sad and I could barely manage to hold back my tears watching the many videos of Palestinians fighting for their rights to live free with dignity, smiling to the cameras as they were being dragged away by the Occupation’s forces.

Last year, I had come to believe, with much heartache, that the Palestinian cause have died with the ‘peace efforts’ of some regional players. My country, Lebanon, was bleeding, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Sudan and Algeria were all bleeding, but Palestine… it was killed. That is what plagued my mind and I was crushed by the mere weight of the thought. I have long considered Palestine a second home for me and the Palestinian people my siblings. Their joy meant my joy and their sorrow mine. Imagine, then, learning that the Arab world has ‘overgrown’ the Palestinian cause and left the Palestinians defenseless and alone.

But here I am, reminded that so long as a single Palestinian draws breath then so does the cause with him, reminded that a just cause burns with an inextinguishable fire. I was also reminded that the people of the Arab world, weak and powerless as they are, refuse to give up on their brothers and sisters. And powerless and weak as I am, with a music channel as my only platform, and with a very modest following to it, I too wish to do my part and speak out loud what the world chooses not to hear: Palestine is suffering, Palestine is oppressed, the Palestinian cause is a just cause that supersedes any ethnic or religious considerations. Palestine concerns every single one of us and it is our responsibility as humans to stand with Palestine until it is free.

I always feared making clear political stances, I’d say: I do not want to confront anyone, everyone is entitled to their opinion, what if someone finds out of my stance and then denies me a job opportunity (in the Arab world, sad as it is, more so than the Western world), what if I word it wrong and offend someone, what if I lose subscribers, what if and what if. But today, I will make my stance very clear. I stand with Palestine; I stand with the people of Palestine now and until the day I die.

I hope no one conflates love and support for Palestine as hatred directed towards the Jews, because it is not. What really matters now is that we acknowledge that the Palestinians are being treated as sub-humans, living under an apartheid regime, uprooted and evicted from their ancestral homes and denied return on top of that. We stand against this blatant ethnic cleansing, land theft, and dehumanization of the Palestinian people which has been going on since at least 1948.

Before I upload the videos I have already finished, I want to share with you two songs by two of the most beloved Arab singers, Umm Kulthum and Fairuz, in support of Palestine, its people, their right of return, and their right for a dignified life in their ancestral homes.

Thank you for you time (and sorry about the bad Photoshop!).

Hi, guys. I wanted to thank you all for your support this past week. It has been a very difficult time for my country and we're trying our best to weed out the perpetrators and the cause of our problems. The love you have showered me with was immense and so heartwarming, and I cannot thank you enough for it.

I decided to take a week off out of respect for the martyrs who fell victims to the explosion. I will resume my activity starting this week, and I hope my content remains to your liking and that I can continue to share the beauty of the musical cultures and heritage of the Arab world.

I, also, would like to share with you my friend's blog (link below). He writes reviews and pens downs his thoughts. As the title suggests: it's really just random things. If you are into that kind of blogs, I highly encourage you to go and give it a look and support it.

Have a great day, everyone.
