Arclight Project

The Arclight Project is a social enterprise based in the School of Medicine at the University of St Andrews.

Our aims are to equip, train and empower healthcare workers in all settings to confidently diagnose and manage eye and ear disease, and to re-energise core skills more widely.

To do this, we develop and produce a range of low-cost, simple yet powerful eye and ear healthcare devices, along with accompanying training materials.

Our core product is the Arclight: a pocket all-in-one ophthalmoscope-loupe-otoscope. Its simple and clever design makes it compact, portable, affordable and easy to use. The Arclight comes in a small and compact fabric case along with a range of useful accessories, including a simulation eye.
