The Appearance Positive (TAP) is a Social Enterprise pioneering the field of Appearance Justice across Africa. We address appearance-based harm not as a cosmetic concern, but as a systemic axis of injustice that determines who is hired, who is believed, and who is protected.
Driven by Appearance Epidemiology and rooted in lived experience, TAP restores the 'Paradox of Ability', ensuring that no individual's social or economic participation is limited by how they are seen. Through our integrated pillars—APi (Research), Appear+ (Support), and the ASWALK Festival (Culture), we move the world from self-erasure to authentic visibility.
