I started my keto journey in July of 2021 at 475 lbs. I have lost over 160 lbs so far. I share my journey with you, throw in the occasional keto recipe, and finally share the occasional thought about this little journey that we call life!
I know that I've only shared short videos for the last month or so. For those of you who don't watch those short videos my Father in Law passed away on August 13th. It has been a difficult time for our family. I want to get back to sharing my health journey with you all. Having said that, I need to take a short break from Social Media. I'm planning on around a week but it might be longer, we'll see. I love you guys. Catch you on the flip side... day by day keep calm and keto on my friends!
Really struggling. A couple of things in the last few days have really hit home for me. Not in a positive way.
1. My dad recorded me playing and singing Billy Joel's new single at the piano on Sunday. It was fun. But I saw how I LOOKED. I was a bit surprised and a lot disappointed. I've put some lbs back on for sure. It sneaks up on you.
2. A couple of weeks ago I tried to put on some jeans my parents bought me for my birthday back in September of last year. They were a bit tight in September. Now they don't fit at all
3. I looked at myself in the mirror last night as I was getting ready for bed. Yikes! I do NOT look good.
I'm at a crossroads. It's hard to not be very upset. It's hard to not feel depressed. I know what I need to do but I'm not sure if I can do it.
I will be going live on Alan's Awesome Keto world tomorrow evening at 6 pm. I would love to have you join. Alan is amazing and he's been living the keto lifestyle a lot longer than I have.
Confession time. I binged last night. I ate all kinds of things that are not on my eating plan. Pringles, a slice of cold pizza, granola bars, caramel corn. If it was in the house and not bolted to the floor I ate it.
It was late at night. After everyone else was asleep. Some old, bad habits reared their ugly heads.
Now I share this with you not to beat myself up (although I did a bit of that this morning by myself) but I share it with you to share my WHOLE journey with you. Not just the sunshine and rainbows.
The reasons for the binge are probably a combination of the stressful week and a few other things. I find that I can get through the difficult time but AFTER I navigate the thing I sometimes "relax" by making poor choices.
I also want to share this with you because I am sure that I'm not the only person who has done something like this on a health journey. I'm not the first and I won't be the last. So I woke up this morning and I did beat myself up a little bit if I'm being honest. Then though I asked myself why? Why did I do this? I'm still working through it. To me though, a stumble can be helpful if we learn from it. So I'm looking at what I can learn.
So what am I going to do now? I'm going to get back on track. I got up this morning, did my stretch workout, took my dogs for a walk, and even got to see a red fox during my walk. It was pretty cool. I am going to get right back on my eating plan and I'm going to move forward. It is a journey. I'm a recovering perfectionist so it is a bit hard and I'm sure that I will probably metaphorically beat myself a couple of more times. But I'm getting better. Progress, not perfection.
Thanks for letting me share. Thanks for being a part of my journey. Thanks for your love and support. Happy Sunday everyone!

This month I want to share the joy of Christmas! Similar to last month where my goal was to flood social media with gratitude, this month I would like to flood social media with uplifting Christmas music.
So my challenge to you is to share on your favorite social media platform, a Christmas song that fills you with joy every day until Christmas.
