Y thee Asinine is a guitarist and electronic musician based in Los Angeles. He's been playing music his whole life, starting with piano, then saxophone, and when he discovered grunge and alternative rock in the 90s, he picked up the guitar. His influences include Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction, Tool, Deftones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, and Incubus, among many others. In addition, his love for electronic music such as The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, and Massive Attack got him into synthesizers and drum machines. When you hear his music, it's obvious who his influences are, but much harder to classify into a specific genre. With searing guitar riffs, hard hitting drums, frenetic bass lines, and sampled and synthesized sounds, Y thee Asinine creates songs that are heavy, energetic, hypnotic, and psychedelic.
