Welcome to Smashin Homestead a DIY channel where I try it figure out how to change my overgrown acre of a backyard and maintain our house into my families little own paradise. I have no experience with the outdoors, just learning along the way!

I was raised in a city New Jersey, where my back yard was concrete, and even when I served our country I experienced more sand and dirt than the outdoors (Fort Sill, Iraq). When stationed at Fort Drum nature wasn't a priority to me unfortunately.

Not only do I want to learn how to take care of my house and the over an Acre of overgrown backyard, but as a dad of 4 boys I hope to learn some skills, so I can be there if they need me and to teach them along the way. Not to mention my wife thinks its HOT!
