Xiomaro (the real and original Xiomaro)

After recovering from cancer, Xiomáro (SEE-oh-MAH-ro)—born in Crown Heights, Brooklyn—left a legal career representing pioneering Hip Hop and Dance music artists like MC Shan, Lisa Lisa, and Village People to pursue photography. He has been interviewed on ABC and CBS news for his gritty and surreal images—created in-camera without AI or any digital manipulation which will be the subject of three books he authored for release by Sutton Publishing: Street Photography of New York City: Street Haunting in the Big Apple (October 27, 2025); Street Photography of The Wildwoods: The Other Side of Nostalgia (April 2026); and Street Photography of New York City: More Street Haunting—Drama, Dreams, and Delirium (2027). The artist is also recognized for his National Park Service commissions, featured by The New York Times and in the PBS segment Xiomaro Captures Morristown. For more info visit www.xiomaro.com
