A small-time boomer-streamer who enjoys playing games both old and new and thinks skunks are the coolest animal on the planet.

My goal is to eventually make streaming my career, haha funny play games for a living meme, but it's the dream and one day I hope to make it a reality. For now sit back, drink a lot of coffee because I stream at horrible hours, and enjoy yourselves because we're all along for the wild ride!

The channel is now abandoned, I have finished uploading every backlog VOD I had saved. I will not be uploading here anymore and if you subscribed looking for content you can now unsubscribe.

I've had this channel for 11 years now, it has been an up and down ride but these last couple years have sucked. Didn't get the community I wanted of people commenting, participating, and showing any kind of support. There have been a few individuals who have done their best and to them I say thanks but the wider community presence has never been here and with YouTube censoring more and more everyday I can no longer be me and still use this website. I leave the channel behind bitter and indifferent which is why the recent videos haven't had thumbnails or descriptions and why I'm not even making a final video send-off. Let this shitty channel rot and fester until YouTube removes it themselves for whatever bs reason they choose to do so.

I will now be uploading all stream VOD's to my Odysee page which will continue to take the role of hosting my stream VODs, check that out and consider subscribing if you actually cared about the VODs I published here.

Maybe with a fresh start on Odysee I can fulfill my dream of finally having an active community to watch my content, or maybe history will repeat itself.

Hey all, haven't published content in a good bit now, YouTube decided to give me a strike for wrong think on a certain 2020 event that took place and ended up taking down one of my Minecraft Schizo VOD's and then an exact week later they hit me with another strike for "terrorist organizations" due to my Quest for Bush VOD. I attempted to make an appeal for the Quest for Bush stream because YouTube was wrong but they denied the appeal.

While the MC stream strike was crappy but technically correct in it being a ToS violation, another YouTuber who recorded Quest for Bush got hit with the same guideline strike and because of this had his channel shadowbanned/blacklisted so none of his videos were even being put out for people to find essentially killing his channel. Because of the chance that my channel is also blacklisted for this wrongful strike and other reasons which have been building up I am abandoning this channel. I don't say that lightly as I've been doing this on YT since 2012 and this has been a huge part of my history on the internet but with YouTube acting as they are I want nothing more to do with this place.

With that said I still have about 60 VODs that I need to publish so once I finish backing up my entire channel I'll be publishing those on a regular basis and then once those are up I'll be publishing one last final video talking about the channel and my ditching of it and that will wrap up The Renegadist on YouTube. The channel will not be deleted and will be left untouched unless YouTube decides they want to pull more content for retarded reasons. Expect those backlog VODs to start being published within 1-3 weeks depending on how long it takes to back up the channel.

If you're curious, I've already made an account on a website called Odysee which is essentially YouTube but more open to people being themselves without fear of losing it all. Once I get things settled on here I'll be fully committing to running my Odysee channel and we'll basically continue off on there as if nothing happened. As of now I only plan on re-uploading all of my Official and Unofficial streams only as I don't want a repeat of what happened here with all the dead sub assholes I acquired uploading non-stream content.

Going to try and keep this short because I have talked about this on stream but I figured no one would watch that VOD so I'll say something here to make it official.

So as of today you'll notice an Official Stream without a thumbnail or description, this will be the norm from now on. While I still enjoy streaming I have completely lost faith and have stopped caring about the YouTube channel. Been doing this for 11 years now and I still find myself getting little to no feedback on any of my videos and in some cases VODs get less than 15 views after being published several months prior, I barely get any comments on anything so I don't even know how good or bad I'm doing, and overall it seems only a small handful of people even care that this channel exists to begin with.

VODs will still be uploaded and published from my streams but I will no longer be putting in any effort to do custom thumbnails or provide descriptions, no point in putting in effort when effort is not reciprocated back.

I did want to give a personal thanks to those people keeping up with me when I go live and the chosen few who do participate on the YT channel in views, comments, likes/dislikes but as far as I'm concerned the rest of you dead sub fucks can do a backflip off of a bridge.

Hey all, another quick announcement that probably won't be so quick:

So if you've been keeping up with recent streams or the Discord you would know that I've hit this brick wall with the YT side of things where out of 1,1080~ subs maybe 2 people leave comments and feedback on videos at the most. This sparked a debate on the Discord about what the cause of this is, at first I just assumed it was something I was doing wrong and still could be but a few people mentioned that it's probably due to all the dead subs I have. This got me thinking, maybe people are subscribing and unsubscribing because people sub for the random videos I put out and then when I just put out VODs they leave. This is what's leading to the announcement:

So by the end of the week every non-stream VOD on the channel will be unlisted meaning only stream VOD's will be appearing on the channel from now on. Most of the videos that ShitTube circulates around are my one-off videos that I don't intend to do more of so I'm going to force YT to only spread my VODs around which is my primary content on the channel. None of the videos will be privated or deleted, they will simply all be unlisted and if you want to watch any of them you just need to go to their playlist. If I ever decide to upload single vids in the future they will remain public for one entire month and then be unlisted and put in a playlist just the same. (Thanks Ross Scott).

I'm hoping with just the VODs showing people who decide to sub will sub for them and not something else entirely unrelated. This won't fix all the dead subs but it will prevent new ones from cropping up and maybe draw in the right crowd for the channel (VOD Crowd).

Anyhow, that's it, I'm going to make sure every video is in a playlist so nothing is lost with this switch.

Alright my dudes, quick announcement:

So on my Discord I asked the community if they wanted me to keep mod streams for games like Half-Life in their own self contained playlist per mod or in one big grouping and it was unanimous that everyone wanted a condensed playlist containing every mod playthrough I've done. So today, I bring you just that.

So from here on out whenever I stream a mod for any game whether it be Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM, you name it the streams will be in one big playlist so you have a one-stop shop for all your mod stream needs. The overall list itself will be chronological with when they were streamed but mods will also be grouped together (Say I streamed a mod 2 years ago and came back to finish it now, the original stream would be higher (older) on the list but the sequel stream would be right after it despite being 2 years later.)

This should hopefully clear room for other non-mod playlists to shine and remove a lot of clutter as well as make it convenient for you guys. Any mod streams that linked to their own playlist have now been re-linked to the general playlist. Any mods that linked to the "One and Done" playlist have been re-linked as well but you can still find them in the One and Done playlist as well. I've also gone in and edited the Build 2046 playlist to include all Build 2046 streams, since the original two versions WERE Half-Life 2 mods they are in the HL2 Mod Playlist but the 5.30 versions which were standalone are not.

Anyhow, that's it, if you have any questions let me know and hopefully with this announcement people will be inclined to go back and check the older legacy stuff I've done even if it sucks. Oh and one more thing, currently only Half-Life and Half-Life 2 have playlists so if you want to check them out you can below:

Sup my dudes, got a couple small announcements I wanna drop here so gimme some ears right quick.

Ok, so the first bit of the announcement I wanted to mention that from now on the VOD's will be edited to remove the intro and by that I mean the "Initializing stream, do not unplug or turn off VCR". I'm doing this because on some streams I may want to play copyrighted music or just video game music that Nintendo or some other company will get mad about so this way people who are on the actual stream can listen to it and afterward Twitch will mute that portion of the intro and I'll be able to straight up remove it from the VOD before it goes on YT without losing the quality of the stream (Thanks Avidemux). This will officially start when the "Wolfenstein 3D Mod: Coffee Break - Part 01" stream goes up from this morning, so in about a month or so. I should mention that the actual intro with the game name, tape, all that pompousness will be kept in so each VOD will start with that. This also means I'll stop doing timestamps in the description as well since there won't be a point anymore.

Secondly, I wanted to announce that all but two of the videos in my "Video Re-Uploads" playlist will be deleted from the channel. I've been noticing an influx of people commenting and leaving support on the videos which doesn't feel right considering they aren't my original works and people should be watching them on their original channels rather than my channel. That and I don't want people subbing to my channel expecting more re-uploads when I don't plan on doing any more ever again. Don't worry however, I still have physical copies of each one in my YT Archive so they are not lost forever but they just won't be viewable on the channel anymore. These will be pulled down May 13th so if you would like to back them up now you can do so.

I did mention two videos won't be included in this and that is "The Game of Half-Life 2 You Play" and "SHE WAS A GOOD STALKER FIXED". I'm keeping the first one as it holds a special place in my heart and to my knowledge my channel is the only legitimate way to view this video so because of those two reasons it will be kept up. The other one I'm keeping as it improves on the original by fixing the audio issues YouTube introduced sometime down the line so it has a sort of purpose for existing rather than a simple re-upload like the others.

Anyhow, that's all. The jump to Twitch is working out well so far, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I'm banned for saying something they don't like but while there's peace we're having a good time over there. I still highly recommend people jump on over to catch me live but as always VOD's will continue to come out as usual on here. With that I leave you with the playlist for the re-uploads in case you want to view or back them up yourself, my Twitch link, and a meme I made that is pretty fitting.

Alright, this will be the last announcement concerning switching to Twitch. Wanted to give you guys one last final reminder that if you would like to participate in the live portion of my streams head on over to the Twitch page and Follow because I will not be streaming to YouTube anymore (Except for special streams) so if you want to remain caught up head over there. Again, this isn't required and anyone can view the streams without a Twitch account but if you want to chat and hang out you'll need one. This will be the last community post mentioning this but I wanted people to be in the know as much as possible.

As for today's stream, to celebrate the big move to Twitch I did my first Blue Shift PDR, it was interesting but very fun so check out the VOD here: www.twitch.tv/videos/1452718972

As always, take care.

Hahah April Fools, I'm not moving to Twitch

today so instead I'll be moving to Twitch probably around the 11th of April. Decided to hold off because I want to do many many more recording while streaming tests to make sure the quality is good and there's no issues of file size being too crazy or anything else like that. So, the move to Twitch is still happening but delayed to make sure you guys have the best experience possible and I don't potentially lose streams because of unseen issues especially file size. So, until then, will still be streaming to both platforms and everything will continue as it has before until the 11th of April 2022.

If you haven't yet I still recommend heading over to the Twitch page to follow so you can be ready when it happens but again, not required.

Hey all, just wanted to give a quick reminder that a week from today on April 1st I'll be moving to Twitch for all my streaming and using YouTube as an HD VOD archive for all the stuff on do over on Twitch. If you haven't already you can follow me over on www.twitch.tv/therenegadist before the move happens so you're in the loop. As I said before, making a Twitch account or following me is not required as you can still watch the streams but if you want to participate in the chat and anything else we do on there I would recommend doing so. Currently on Twitch 50 followers are required to basically unlock the rest of the features for creators and I'm sitting at 34 currently, would be cool to hit 50 before the move so when we do move I'm ready to hit the ground running.

Speaking of next Friday, there is a very special stream planned to commemorate the move that involves a certain Half-Life mod that I know you'll all want to be there for, more info on that later.

Das it I done

IMPORTANT!!

Ok now that I lied it's time for the announcement, so if you've been following on streams or in the Discord I've mentioned the possibility of switching from streaming to YouTube/Twitch to just streaming to Twitch alone and using the YT channel as a VOD archive similar to a lot of other streamers. This has been on my mind for a couple months now and today I'm here to say I'll be doing so at the end of March. This hasn't been a quick or easy choice, I've been mulling it over in my head for awhile now, weighing pros and cons, but in the end this is what I decided on.

What lead to this? Well, first of all both platforms are shit, no one with a good brain among them will say that one platform is "good" or "gooder" than the other and both have their own horrible way of doing things but after the way YouTube has treated myself (and other people recently) I've decided to abandon hope of growing the channel via streaming on YouTube and move to Twitch where I'm not only actually put out there for people to find but the chances of it becoming a "career" has much greater odds than if I stayed on YouTube. This isn't to say Twitch is perfect because honestly I think it's shit but the one thing they do right is actually get your name and "brand" out there for others to easily find and support whereas you're a drop of water in the bucket on YouTube except YouTube takes your drop out of the bucket and puts it in another bucket with all the other little drops just waiting to die.

What does this mean for you guys? Well nothing, whether you have a Twitch account or not you can still watch without any issues aside from the quality being locked at 720p60FPS and if you miss the stream the VOD's will be published on the YT channel just as they always have been. I don't expect everyone will have a Twitch account nor will want to get one and honestly I would say it isn't worth it to make an account just to talk in my chat but I do hope everyone who participates in the chat now will migrate over because I legit have the best chat on the platform filled with really cool people and getting as many of you guys over as possible is the best case scenario but not required by any means. This also means once I become affiliated on Twitch you can choose to support me monthly via "Subs" which is basically monthly Patreon support but via Twitch as well as donate "Bits" and other things.

What will be changing? One of the major things is the quality of the streams via the bitrate, I discovered YouTube horribly bitcrushes the stream either during or afterward which has viewers losing a ton of detail. This is when I discovered Twitch doesn't do this or rather their codec is much higher quality giving you guys the best quality possible at all times. The other big thing is the monetary aspect, now while I still consider streaming a hobby a wise man once said "If you think you're good at something, chase that something until you achieve your goal" and actually I just said that myself but if I have the chance to grow the channel and eventually make it a career then goddammit I'm going to do my best to get there! This means eventually once I hit 50 followers I'll be able to accept "bits and subs" mainly subs which will allow people to basically subscribe to the channel every month so that I can get a stable income. It's Patreon but done through Twitch. One other thing, unrelated to Twitch, will be higher quality VOD's on YT. I've decided to record every stream I do while streaming and if I can get away with it I'll record at higher quality than I stream so once the VOD gets on YT it will be in super high quality for anyone to enjoy any time vs. using the VOD provided by YT or Twitch. Since Twitch mutes a ton of music this means the streams will mostly be the same as they are when done live but in HD quality. Win win situation.

What won't be changing? Well everything else really, the streams will function the same, I'll play the same games, and I'll act and be the same including what I say. I won't be pandering or censoring myself on Twitch and will continue to be who I am unmoved and unapologetic. The only small thing that I'll have to avoid will be playing banned games on Twitch but in those cases I'll just stream those solely on YouTube so we can get around that. Considering the platform is very PC focused if anyone is worried I'll be changing myself to fit in I think Twitch has a whole 'nother thing coming. Another annoying thing I see in other streams are all kinds of annoying and distracting screen effects, I will not be doing this. Everything I do on screen will be done in OBS and that usually consists of chat on screen, permadeath stats, and other small things from time to time. If anyone is worried my streams will become clusterfucks you don't have to sweat it. I don't like that shit in other people's streams and I won't put it in mine.

Anyhow, that is it. So to re-iterate, at the end of March/beginning of April I'm going to be switching to solely streaming on Twitch, recording the VOD's live while streaming, and then uploading them to YouTube for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday publishing just as I always have. No one is required to make an account or switch over but I do hope people do switch so we don't lose anybody. Any games I want to play that are banned on Twitch will be streamed exclusively on YT to avoid issues and the rest of the games I play/want to play will be done on Twitch. Streams will look, sound, and function the same aside from the quality being stuck at 720p60FPS on Twitch. Eventually I will become Affiliate and we can work toward making this a career. Finally, VOD's will be recorded in higher quality than the stream itself so anyone watching VOD's on YT will be able to enjoy them in crisp HD.

I'm excited for what the future holds as well as a bit nervous since this goes outside of what I'm used to, whether this plays out good is up in the air but I'm hyped to see where this new path goes and I hope you guys are too!

I would like to hear what you guys think, drop some comments below this post and I'll give them a read!
