Southeast Kansas Railfan

Hello welcome to South East Kansas Railfan! I mainly railfan Southeast Kansas (hence the name) and Northeast Oklahoma. Union Pacific is the nearest Class I railroad near me and a short line runs near me to, the South Kansas Oklahoma Railroad.
My equipment recording wise is a Panasonic HC-V770 and iPhone 13 and other equipment Baofeng UV-5R and a Joilcan M30.

Today I found myself in Coffeyville, KS trying to get a train. I searched through the yard and didn’t see a thing. Just only to find out Union Pacific MNLNP was awaiting clearance into the yard. After getting some food, I got word that it was officially in the yard. Right as I got to the yard it started switching duties. While I was watching them work the yard, I got word that a “mysterious” foreign power locomotive was leading a train, but the MNLNP was way to long to let the other train in, so I left.
Surprisingly, it was a pretty good day

As a welcome back to railfanning, UP really did a good job💀

I made a run to Coffeyville to do some railfanning. With my usual luck with the UP, I didn’t see a train in the yard, except these locomotives. Hoping my luck would get better on the SKOL, the railroad took an off day for Memorial Day.

I’ll be back on the rails sometime soon. Hopefully I can actually get some action and not an empty yard.

Well, I’m back from being busy. I caught SKOL 205 going south to make a switch move at the state line.
I got word from ‪@jellostrains‬ that a usual daily 204/205 train was on the Tulsa line. Although I didn’t hear anything throughout the day, I got word it passed Havana, KS at a decent rate of speed. I got out to the tracks and waited about 10 minutes just to see our train stopped north of town. After walking back to the truck, I happen to hear it moving and heading south. After trying my best to get my camera in the best position, it went on by to do its switching. I found out 205 shoved back into north of town after doing its duties, and head south about an hour and a half later!
