Michael Stearns is one of the earliest American composers of electronic, electro-acoustic, and environmental “space music”—a ground-breaker, form-giver, and innovator—who went on to a successful career as a sound designer, music director, and composer for immersive films and theme park experiences, specializing in multi-channel Spatial Audio formats decades before Dolby Atmos. He also produced, engineered and collaborated on albums with other independent artists, while continuing to release his own recordings.
