Traverse is an independent Canadian hip-hop artist from Hamilton, Ontario — a city with its own underground lineage and a hunger for the real. He came up in that tradition, and it shaped everything about how he makes music.
His catalog spans over a decade of work with producer Ski Beatz — the Brooklyn legend behind Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt era and a defining architect of East Coast hip-hop. The connection started in Yonkers, where Traverse worked directly with Ski Beatz to develop a sound built on live instrumentation, original composition, and no compromises.
After recording in New York, he traveled to Las Vegas and Los Angeles — absorbing the country, its energy, its contradictions — before returning to put it all on record. That journey lives in the music.
His 2026 album Virtual World pushes further — live musicians, real rooms, human hands on real instruments — while confronting AI, social media, and the quiet erosion of originality in modern music.
