Hi there, my name is Sam and I've been making content about autism and neurodiversity since 2019, with a goal to help more people understand their autistic and ADHD brains. I'm a late-diagnosed AuDHDer myself, having struggled my way through life for decades before I understood WHY everything was so hard all the time.

I'm the author of "So You Think You're Autistic", a workbook for people to better understand their autistic traits, especially around the time of diagnosis or self-identification.

In addition to my YouTube content, I:
đź’ˇ Mentor and support neurodivergent entrepreneurs with business strategy and personal growth
⛺️ Organize retreats for ND business owners to recharge, connect, and find inspiration

📚 Call for Contributions: Share Your Experience/s for My Upcoming Book on Autistic Trauma 📚

I’m currently working on finishing up my book, which explores autistic trauma through both research and lived experience. To make the chapters as authentic and grounded as possible, I’m collecting short quotes from autistic people (diagnosed or self-identified) who feel able to share their experiences. I’d especially love to hear from people whose voices don’t often show up in the usual autism conversations — people of colour, LGBTQIA+ folks, non-speakers, people with higher support needs, those with complex comorbidities, and anyone whose perspective sits outside the typical Western narrative.

I’m looking for contributions specifically related to the following chapters:

School & Education
Work & Employment
Therapy
Medical Trauma
Criminal Justice System
Psychiatry

You can submit to one or multiple categories — whatever feels relevant to you.

❄️What to send❄️

Anywhere from 2–3 sentences to two short paragraphs
(Longer pieces may be used if particularly compelling.)

Keep your contribution directly related to the chapter topic and rooted in your own autistic experience.

You may choose to be anonymous in the book, but:

You cannot submit the consent form anonymously — the publisher requires your name for legal reasons (this will be kept confidential of course)
Please do not name or identify any other person, professional, school, or organisation in your quote

❄️How to contribute❄️

Please contact Ana directly at ana.muhlethaler@gmail.com, who is helping me manage the submissions. She’ll provide the required consent form and answer any questions.

Thank you so much in advance! The book is 95% done and I just have a few additions to go before the final submission!

About 4 years after first planning this video about Pride & Prejudice & Neurodiversity, it is finally filmed. What's the longest you've procrastinated on a project?

How would you describe your experiences of touch sensitivity/tactile defensiveness? Is it pain, ickiness, or a tickling feeling? Does it change according to light or firm pressure, or whether the touch is unexpected or not? Does the person matter?

Comments will be used (anonymously) for an upcoming video.

Very sad to share the news that my dear friend Dianna Moylan passed away last week. I loved having her on my channel/podcast (older viewers might remember the aphantasia video we did several years ago). She will be deeply missed. Listen to us talk about facing your own death and how her neurodivergence impacted her.

🌿 Wild Brains Retreat: Partial Funding Available!
(If cost was the thing stopping you, this might be your moment.)

Thanks to some generous sponsorship from Leibniz University Hannover, we’ve already been able to offer a few fully funded spots at the Wild Brains Retreat this May (all filled) — and excitingly we have a little funding left to support a few more of you.

✨ We can offer up to 50% off for a couple of places, which means your ticket could be €900 ex VAT instead of €1800.

📍 May 19–23 | Yugen Forest, Netherlands
🧠 For neurodivergent entrepreneurs, small business owners, and changemakers
đź’¤ Real beds, nourishing food, gentle structure, and zero small talk pressure

If you’ve been dreaming of being in this space but couldn’t make the full price work, we’d love to hear from you.

Here’s how to apply:
📧 Email hello@yosamdysam.com before the end of Sunday with:
– A short intro (who you are, what you do, and where you live)
– A couple of sentences about why you’d love to join us and what level of financial support you need to make it work

That’s it. No hoops, no long forms. Just be real.

There are only a couple of these part-funded spots available, and we’ll let you know early next week if it’s a match.

Additionally, if you can afford the full price, there are only 5 spots remaining, so book your spot now to avoid disappointment --> wildbrains.my.canva.site/netherlands2025

Hope to see you there! 🌳

I wanted to share something special that might be of interest to many of you in this community. I’m hosting another Wild Brains Retreat this May (held at the same location as last year, at Yugen Forest here in the Netherlands), and while it’s designed for neurodivergent entrepreneurs and professionals, the focus is on recharging, reconnecting with your purpose, and gaining clarity on your direction - whether you’re building a business or just figuring things out.

If you’re tired of the burnout, exhaustion, and feeling like you have to keep pushing yourself harder to "make it," this retreat could be exactly what you need. Imagine a space where you can be fully YOU, without the mask, and with people who get it. The Wild Brains Retreat is all about harnessing your energy and creativity in a way that’s sustainable, so you can thrive in every part of your life, not just your work.

What you’ll get: ✨ Time to rest and reset, so you can move forward with fresh energy ✨ A supportive community of neurodivergent professionals and entrepreneurs ✨ Business support (yes, but without the hustle or burnout) ✨ A chance to reflect, recharge, and find your rhythm for the long haul

If this sounds like something you’d love to know more about, I’d love for you to join the mailing list to get all the details. There’s no pressure to commit, but it’s a great way to stay in the loop!

I can’t wait for this retreat - it’s going to be such an exciting and transformative experience for everyone who joins!
