Hey, I'm Theology! I'm a DJ/Producer of club-ready video game remixes and a Mental Health activist. I do a monthly podcast called “The Quest Within (formerly the Music and Mental Health Podcast),” that discusses mental health issues. I do a monthly broadcast called "inVGMweTrust" which showcases the latest and greatest in VGM, and I also do a monthly series called "What Video Games Taught Me about Mental Health" where relate a video game to some aspect of mental health.

My live DJ sets utilize the nostalgic power of VGM to communicate an encouraging message of positivity through the music AND the visuals. I type uplifting messages to the crowd that are based on whatever song I’m playing. If people don’t ever hear encouragement in their lives, I want them to at least hear it from me.

Please consider subscribing, following my journey on social media, or supporting me on Patreon. I also have several resources on my official website.

Let’s unlock god mode together :smiling_imp:

Sup y'all!

I've seen this app floating around called Suno lately and my goodness is it impressive! To think you can create entire songs that sound AMAZING with just the typing of a few words. Technology has come to a point now where, in the music production world, people are really scared and don't really know how to react.

Let me tell you how I am going to react: I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing. I will continue to produce music on my own, collab with live artist, and bring you electronic music that comes from the HUMAN SOUL, not from a machine that is trained on an algorithm. I quit using AI video in my productions about 6 months ago, and I will continue to stand against "artists" trying to pass off work a computer did as their own. It's not only thievery, it's fraud.

AI will become the new form of ghost production, something that has always made me super angry but I didn't really speak out against it like I should have. Well, in this new modern era we now have just stepped into, I have another shot to stand up and do the right thing and speak out against generative AI (and yes, SPECIFICALLY generative AI).

I will NEVER use generative AI in my music. Ever. Why? It's the equivalent of the "no talent backdoor" to get in on the music industry. To type in a few words and have a whole ass song in minutes seems amazing to those who don't know how to produce. It's especially dangerous in the electronic music world too, as you can pass of any of these songs Suno creates as your own (because they are done /really/ well!).

I have been told in the past that I have a unique sound. People can tell it's MY music when I play it. I used to want to sound like everyone else (you know, that super commercial sound that is on so many other labels) until I realized that I have a UNIQUE sound and it WORKS on the dancefloor! I am now embracing this to the n'th degree, and this, my friends, is what will make me stand apart from AI "art."

Can AI replicate my specific sound? Probably. But if it DOES and the song comes from another name, you'll know it's not a Theology remix, but just AI and it's thievery and fraud.

So here's to the future of music... and if I find out you are using GENERATIVE AI (not AI to like rip a vocal or a sample or something) to "create" music and pass it off as your own, I'm going to call you out. Until you are caught, enjoy living the life of a fraud!

Sincerely,
-The New Theology who is now going to say his opinions and not worry about it ruffling feathers anymore. Yes, I'm the mental health guy, but sometimes some tough love is required in life.

YO! To anyone that has found my channel after Magfest, WELCOME! I just wanna post a quick little ditty here... I NO LONGER USE GENERATIVE AI IN MY VIDEOS (I haven't for months, actually)!

At first I just did it cuz I thought it was cool, and, being a YouTuber with the subscriber count that I have, I do NOT have the money to pay someone to make me an album art, thumbnail, and video every time I post a new song (26x a year to be exact). I can barely afford to exist, let alone that haha.

So I was like, "Wow I can post cool visuals for next to nothing? This is great!" so I was on that train for a bit. But then someone pointed out to me that it was stealing, and I cannot, in good conscience, EVER do that to independent artists... like how would I like someone doing that to MY work? It doesn't make sense and it's super cringe. Thus, in all the videos I used generative AI in for the visuals, I put a disclaimer in the description calling out that I don't use it anymore and why I don't use it.

Now subscribe to my patreon so I can afford to pay some artists for future videos? Heheheheheheh ;)

I'M FREAKING OUT!
My "Life in the Mines" Remix from Donkey Kong Country just got included on an Anjunabeats podcast (Top Trance label in the world).
THANK YOU DON AND JUSTIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE TRACKS I'VE EVER MADE! :D

And also, CONGRATS DON AND JUSTIN!

I have to tell a story here... I've told it before on my other social media accounts, but it's really cool and needs to be said.

I go wayyyy back with Don (on the right in this picture). He booked me for my first ever club show in Minneapolis when I was like 18 (so 14ish years ago haha). The venue was terrible though and they triple booked the venue. It was chaotic for a while, but Don gave up part of his set time so that I could play longer. He is a class act of a human and I'm so proud of him.

If you told me that night that almost 15 years later he'd be doing an Anjuna guest mix and that both of our songs would be on it, I would not have believed it.

But here we are.

In times that I've wanted to quit music because of the walls and politics, Don gave me the best advice I've ever received in my DJ / Producing career:

"Just keep going."

Don... I'm glad we both kept going <3

You guys! I know I've been throwing a LOT of content out to you lately, but in this early phase of the channel, the more I put out is the more that someone somewhere might discover it. I am very much looking forward to the next couple weeks though though, as I'm releasing the next Episode of the Music and Mental Health Podcast tomorrow, my Zelda EP with H8Ø8 on Friday, and then my first piece of "content" on July 7th defending gamers, video games, and their connection to Mental Health.
Full speed ahead! Let's get it!
(below is the album art for The Zelda EP hehe)

Hope everyone is having a safe, cozy, and delightful holiday season! I am currently waiting on the Album Art for my Secret of Mana remix project to come back, and as soon as it does, I'll be commencing efforts to release and distribute it! Stay tuned. 2023 is gonna be HUGE :D
In the meantime, be looking out for a new single dropping on the 30th of December! It's a housy tune that doesn't have anything to do with Winter (because I am missing the warmth of summer).
Peace and love!
