Wild One (Deluxe Edition album), out now
Neighbour Andy’s music feels like putting on your dad’s favourite record: nostalgic and warm. The quintet from Winnipeg, Canada is a new indie rock band by traditional artistic standards, but listen to their music and you’ll find yourself grasping at a sense of familiarity - their melodies and charismatic vocals capture a comfort once thought only to be achieved by standing the test of time.
The boys — Drake Lesperance (vocals), Mark Davidson (guitar), Mackenzie Jackson (bass), Joel d’Eschambault (keys), Jordan Alexiuk (drums) — sparked popularity in 2022 upon releasing their debut single, 71. They released their first EP a few weeks later and have been trying to keep up with ticket demand since, as well as featuring at festivals like NXNE and Festival du Voyageur.
Their fall 2023 album debut, Wild One, is a testament to the band's artistic maturity and that intangible but ever-present sense of familiarity in the hearts of their listeners.
