I was born in Istanbul, Turkey, and my musical journey began at the age of five. It all started with a mini keyboard—I would mimic and play the melodies I heard on TV and the radio. Recognizing my passion, my father began bringing different instruments home every few months. To me, they were toys, and I spent hours experimenting with them, discovering new ways to create music.
At 14, I found my true calling in the balaban, a special type of woodwind flute. While I appreciate and listen to all kinds of music, my deepest connection is with the balaban. When I play, I feel as if I enter another realm—one filled with emotions and artistic expression beyond words. In addition to the balaban, I also play the Turkish G (Sol) clarinet and have collaborated on projects with artists from around the world.
