I am a Mom/Wife/Grandma with years of wisdom and authentic advice. I was diagnosed with Dementia in 2018 after falling ill to Graves Disease. My daughters started posting me on social media, and I have become everyone's favorite Grandma. Dementia doesn't allow me to remember much of anything that happens in the present tense; however, I am able to tap into 80+ years of embedded memories, wisdom and my most true feelings about everything. Dementia has not taken away my wit or my intellect, but if you meet me today, I won't remember you 10 minutes afterwards, and that is the most difficult part about this journey. I spent years as a Facilities Manager at the Department of Energy in Washington DC until I retired. After retirement, I dedicated my life to paying Pinochle in every card club I could find and being Wonder Woman to my kids and my grandkids. I have also been married to Curtis Nichols since June 19, 1965.
