Oftentimes, the path to greatness is met with extreme opposition. This is because achieving greatness is disruptive. It has a cost that most aren't willing to pay. Unfortunately, this means that even some of the people closest to you will be among the voices of dissent.

Here's the thing... If you're truly committed to doing what's never been done before, you have to remain focused on the goal at hand. You can't listen to the naysayers. You must block out all negativity and KEEP MOVING FORWARD! If you don't, they will pull you back down to their level and you'll be left wondering what could have been.

I often use crabbing as an illustration to this point. When I was a boy, I used to enjoy setting traps to catch crabs. As I would collect the crabs from the traps, I'd place them into a five-gallon bucket. Inevitably, one of the crabs would attempt to climb out of the bucket, but the crabs below him would always grab on and pull him back down.

Friends, the same is true for you and your business. Only you have the vision. Only you have the desire. Don't wait for others to approve of what you're doing. And by all means, block out the noise!

So, what are you waiting for? Go be great!

Friends, one of the biggest reasons business owners are frustrated with the growth of their organizations is that they're only focusing on one side of the coin... Revenue! In doing so, you have to work twice as hard to double your business value. Not only will you work harder, but your problems will scale with your growth.

That's why the most valuable businesses aren't necessarily the ones with the highest revenue. They're the companies that exhibit best-in-class operations, leadership, marketing, etc. These businesses have placed an emphasis on growing their value by increasing their multiple.

As a result, they become hyper-efficient and they are able to provide top-notch products and services to their customers. These are the businesses that are truly valuable, and they're the ones that prospective buyers and investors are most attracted to.

So what's the difference between a $1MM dollar company and a $10MM dollar one? The $10MM business understands that the most effective way to grow WITHOUT sacrificing the quality of their offerings is to focus on growing value rather than revenue.

Do you agree? Let me know in the comments. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Oftentimes, the biggest bottlenecks in our businesses are us. Think about it... If every widget, every decision, every action has to flow through you, then you will never move past your personal capacity constraints. Your business is bound by your limitations, and worse, you're now enslaved by your business.

If you want to grow and experience true success, you must relinquish control! When you empower your team to make decisions and not just handle the daily operations, but also drive the business, amazing things begin to take place.

I know that it can feel counterintuitive to relinquish control. After all, your business is your baby. You willed it into existence. But just as a child grows and becomes independent, so too must your business. When you let go, you free your team to live up to their full potential. More than this, you free yourself to work on your business (not in it) and live the life you've been longing for.

Don't be fooled by the numbers on your balance sheet. A successful business is about much more than profitability. I once took the common view of success in business. As a result, I was exhausted from working all the time and dealing with a never ending cycle of problems.

It wasn't until I began to place an emphasis on growing my business's value that I truly began to experience success. I developed a resiliency that enabled me to navigate challenges. Likewise, I discovered a new network of like-minded business owners to support me as I worked toward my goals. On top of it all, I found that my business actually became more profitable with a lot less headaches.

Friends, you too can experience this type of success. Reach out to me in the comments to learn more!

Innovation breeds success. Those who can find creative and groundbreaking ways to serve their customers needs or streamline operations will always have a leg up on their competition. This is because while your competitors are playing "catch up," you're already on to the next thing!

Therefore, you must innovate to dominate. What are you doing to foster a culture of innovation in your business? Leave me a comment below! I'd love to share ideas with you.

I cherish my time away from work. I also cherish my time working on my business. Friends, let me say this another way... I cherish my time!

So often, I speak with business owners who pour every waking moment into their business. At times, this is necessary. However, once you've gotten your business up and running, you should be implementing systems and processes that allow the business to run in your absence.

Unfortunately, most business owners don't understand this or they don't make it a priority and they end up working endlessly. They have no freedom from their business and they're missing out on all the wonderful things that business ownership can offer.

The reality is this, friends... Working 60, 70, or 80 hours a week isn't the badge of honor so many business owners think it is. It isn't sustainable. Eventually, you're going to reach a point of burnout and you will be completely ineffective for your business, your team, and most importantly, your family!

Let me challenge you. Take a day off (where you're not looking at emails and fielding phone calls from your team). Do something you enjoy with the people you love. In the end, your business will benefit from it.

So what can you do in your business today, that can increase your freedom? Let me know in the comments below. If you don't know, reach out to me. I have some solutions that could change your life and your business for the better!

What have YOU been talking about doing but haven't taken action on? What's holding you back? Friends, talking won't take your business to 7, 8, or 9-figure valuations. Talking won't provide you with the freedom to take a month off to play with your family.

Here's what talking WILL do...

Talking will keep you stuck in the same old routine. It will continue the same patterns of sleepless nights, exhausting days, and endless stress.

Only action can change your current situation.

I know you have big ideas. You've got aspirations for your life and your business. Friends, only YOU can make them happen! Take the first step and start achieving the things you desire, TODAY!

Let me know in the comments what your goals are, and let's come up with a plan to move them from the talking phase to the action phase!

You know, I speak with so many business owners who are frustrated. They have poured money, blood, sweat, and tears into their organizations just to get to where they are. Although many of them have what many would consider to be successful businesses, they're still frustrated because they just can't seem to move beyond their current level.

I've found that in many cases, they have one thing in common... They lack clarity in their vision. Now, they might have had a vision at one point, but they've reached the limits because they haven't really taken the time to get into the fine details of that vision.

Let me encourage you to assess your own business vision. What is it? Who does it aim to help? Where is it needed most? How will you achieve it? When will you achieve it? Who will you need to help you along the way?

Friends, these are just some of the questions you must answer in order to clarify your vision. Without a clear vision, you can't create an effective plan to achieve it because you don't know where you're going. Wandering aimlessly in business is a recipe for frustration. Even worse, it will eventually become the recipe for failure.

Hey, take some time to dig into the granular details of your vision and let me know what you uncovered in the comments below!
