Oftentimes, the path to greatness is met with extreme opposition. This is because achieving greatness is disruptive. It has a cost that most aren't willing to pay. Unfortunately, this means that even some of the people closest to you will be among the voices of dissent.

Here's the thing... If you're truly committed to doing what's never been done before, you have to remain focused on the goal at hand. You can't listen to the naysayers. You must block out all negativity and KEEP MOVING FORWARD! If you don't, they will pull you back down to their level and you'll be left wondering what could have been.

I often use crabbing as an illustration to this point. When I was a boy, I used to enjoy setting traps to catch crabs. As I would collect the crabs from the traps, I'd place them into a five-gallon bucket. Inevitably, one of the crabs would attempt to climb out of the bucket, but the crabs below him would always grab on and pull him back down.

Friends, the same is true for you and your business. Only you have the vision. Only you have the desire. Don't wait for others to approve of what you're doing. And by all means, block out the noise!

So, what are you waiting for? Go be great!
